Platform
They were announced, both this one and the Nokia 3.4 as the latest (as of October 2020) midrange Nokia smartphones. The naming scheme by Nokia still seems kind of confused I must say. Remember there still is Nokia 2.3 and 4.3 you name it. One might just as well get lost in the net. Nonetheless, both these smartphones are android powered smartphones. Something great to report is that they run Android 10, with a planned upgrade to Android 11. Now Android 11 is already on smartphones like OnePlus 8T and Google Pixel 5 smartphones.
The phone comes with a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) chipset. Helio P22 is best known for AI-advantaged, advanced dual-camera photography smartphones with rich connectivity. Under the hood is a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and that Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU as well. As for the storage options, Nokia 2.4 smartphone makes room for microSDXC (dedicated slot) to be used in expanding the already available 32 GB (2gb RAM) or 3gb RAM 64 GB internal storage. Whichever option you choose. The storage infrastructure is eMMC 5.1 as one would expect.
Display
Now, large displays ceased to be for phablet phones as they were called back in the days. A phone with 6.5 inches would like the one Nokia 2.4 has would be considered one heck of a large phone. But not anymore. As years pass we have more and more get used to big screens even on the most affordable smartphones in Kenya. Here is a phone with a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution IPS LCD display. For the price it comes with, this is a fine screen for the phone. It does have an 80.6% screen-to-body ratio and 270 PPI density.
Cameras
A camera centered smartphone is what Nokia 2.4 is not. Otherwise, it would have come with four, five, or six cameras hereon? But we do get only three cameras, two on the back and a 5MP front-facing shooter which you are free to call a selfie camera. If we are to face the facts then I think we can all agree that this one is for video calls mostly and not those social media posts.
As for the main camera, you buy this phone, you get a dual 13 MP, AF, and 2 MP, (depth) with features such as LED flash, HDR, panorama, and 1080p@30fps video recording. Moments worth capturing don’t always happen in the light of day. With Night mode’s advanced image fusion and exposure stacking, you can capture vibrant detail in darker conditions – source official website.
Battery and comm
Nokia 2.4 comes with a long-lasting Li-Po 4500 mAh, non-removable battery. Although there isn’t an official announcement on the charging speed, which is evident that this battery will last a whole day or even two comfortable usages. AI-assisted Adaptive Battery prioritizes power for the apps you use most. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, FM radio, and micro USB 2.0, USB On-The-Go.
